Long-awaited! Venezuelan salsa great pianist Ray Perez's most rare record, "They Do It" ('71), has been mastered from the original masters and reissued for the first time in the world! It features a variety of Latin American rhythms played by young musicians in Venezuela at the time, ranging from guaguancó, bolero son, son montuno, and bugarú to calypso, Venezuelan merengue, and pambiche, which is said to be a Dominican merengue slowed down for tourists. The wildly cohesive band ensemble, combined with the powerful vocals of Perrucho, who tragically died the following year in New York City, are considered dance classics in their own right. This reissue faithfully reproduces the original artwork from the original release on Rey Perez's own Pyraphon label. In addition, it has been mastered from the original master tape, making it a long-awaited reissue for salsa dura lovers around the world.
