Antonio Florio & I Turquini's masterpieces from the Symphonia era reissued! Antonio Florio, who has been pursuing the unknown Baroque music of Naples, Italy, buried in history, and I Turquini (now Capella Napolitana), a period ensemble led by Florio, released on the legendary Italian label Symphonia in the 1990s. Two masterpieces that were released on the legendary Symphonia label in the 1990s but are now hard to find are re-released in a new, affordable set on the Glossa label. The 17th-century Neapolitan Marian cult (Marian veneration) and music for the Virgin Mary, which spread in the wake of wars, revolutions, famines, plagues, and natural disasters, were all world premiere recordings at the time of recording. This is a masterpiece of "forgotten Neapolitan Baroque" sung by great singers such as Roberta Invernizzi, Daniela del Monaco, and Pino de Vittorio, all of whom were world premiere recordings at the time of recording.
