The sound of the German wind trombone of the Romantic era comes back to life. A collection of early Romantic concertos for bass posawne! The German trombone "Pozaune" is made by German Meisters. Here comes an interesting program from a music historical point of view, featuring four important early Romantic works composed for the Posaune (trombone), which was used in the fourth movement of Beethoven's "Fate" and later developed as a citizen in the classical world, especially in Germany, during the Romantic period of the 19th century (here in F Friedrich August Berke (1795-1874), a leading German trombonist of the first half of the 19th century who was a member of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, and Carl Traugott Kweisser (1800-1846).Aldo Caterina, who plays a 1976 Bass Pozaune, won second prize in the international competition held in November 2017 at the Parco della Musica in Rome, and was awarded the prize for best Italian performer. Currently based in Germany, she is passionate about discovering and performing the repertoire for Posaune in Germany during the Romantic period. ◆About the instruments used* Bass Pozaune: The instrument (Model Sinfonia, Weite 3) was made by Albert Wolfram in 1976 on the model of a trombone of unknown maker from the first half of the 19th century, and in January 2018, Albert's son, who has a workshop in Markneukirchen Gerhard Wolfram added an F-tube attachment and restored it as a single rotor basspozaune (bass trombone) with German pipes that can reproduce the sound of the Romantic era. *Piano: instrument built by Steinbach of Turin in 1913.Giacondi of San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, was in charge of the restoration.
