Although this choir is still relatively unknown in Japan, it has become a hot topic in Europe and has been gaining attention in recent years. The Swedish Chamber Choir was founded in 2007. It originated as an expansion and merger of the Simon Phipps Vocal Ensemble, which had been active since 1996, and adopted its current name. In October 2011, the choir won the Grand Prix at the choral competition organized by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), as well as the “Silver Rose,” an award given to the best group among all finalists in each category. In November 2011, they once again won the Grand Prix at the Torroza Festival in Spain. Winning two awards at the pinnacle of the choral world is truly a remarkable achievement. Their divine voices will captivate anyone who hears them. The recordings are also of exceptional quality, offering content that will fully satisfy not only choral fans but audio enthusiasts as well. The album includes Japanese lyrics with English translations.
