The Bad Plus, who brought a fresh breeze to the jazz scene with their unique sound blending jazz and rock, officially launched in 2000 as a piano trio featuring Reid Anderson (bass), David King (drums), and Ethan Iverson (piano). They went on to gain a large following in Japan, particularly through their 2005 live performance in Tokyo. After Iverson left the group in 2017, they welcomed Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (sax) to form a new quartet and make a fresh start. Their music has undergone a new evolution. ★New Album ‘Complex Emotions’: Unleashing New Creative Possibilities. The album’s title is taken from a phrase Anderson and King have used for a long time, reflecting the wide-ranging musical exploration that has defined the band’s journey.
