The latest release from popular vocalist Dennis Donatelli, a jazz vocalist who has consistently released new works on his Burt Bacharach collection SAVANT. The album was produced entirely by musician, songwriter, record producer, and bass player Larry Klein. The album features gorgeous arrangements of Burt Bacharach's hit numbers. Dennis had the opportunity to meet Larry Klein at the Grammy Awards a few years ago, and the two hit it off, as Dennis had long been a fan of his work, and this new project was born. There were a wide variety of candidates for the project, but the idea for this Bacharach collection came to Larry while he was talking with a friend who had received a phone call from Burt Bacharach. Dennis grew up listening to Bacharach's music, but the task of selecting songs for this recording from his many hits was difficult. He finally picked nine songs for the recording. Backing musicians Larry Goldings (p) and Anthony Wilson (g) add to the Bacharach sound.It is a mellow and gorgeous work with a superb selection of songs, mostly sweet and sad slow numbers.
