Danish guitarist Jakob Bro's first ECM release! Cheek, Thomas Morgan, Ben Street, Mark Turner, Craig Taborn, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Andrew D'Angelo, Chris Speed, George Garzone, Oscar Noriega, David Having worked with Virelles and others, Bro first appeared at ECM on Paul Motian's 2014 album "Garden of Eden" and later on Tomasz Stanko's "Dark Eye" in 2009. His melodies, colors of sound, and atmosphere are very rich, and his ballads, which seem to wander through the air, are very free.According to Danish journalist Ib Skovgaard, "When Jakob Bro plays guitar, the air is clear." His music transcends genres. There is a melodic clarity that Bro always explores in his songs, and it is consistent. Thomas Morgan, who plays bass in this trio, was born in California in 1981 and has played with Tomasz Stanko's New York Quartet, piano trios with Craig Taborn and Masaaki Kikuchi, David Virelles' Mboko Bro says, "Thomas Morgan is my musical soulmate. As for Norwegian drummer Jon Christensen, the most veteran of the group and a familiar face to ECM fans, "The drummer in my first band was a big fan of Jon's and played me a lot of his records.I immediately found Jon's drumming to be very unique and special, and he has been one of my influences since the beginning of my musical career," said Bro. The guitar trio, which also performed in Japan in 2014, is the most highly anticipated new ECM release. Gefion is a goddess in Norse mythology, especially in Denmark.
