UNIVERS ZERO, a band led by the Belgian drummer/composer Daniel Denis and famous for being the originators and pioneers of "Chamber Rock", has released a live CD+DVD set of previously unreleased material/footage from their June '09 performance at Le Triton live house in the Paris suburbs, in Belgium. Sub Rosa (Belgium) is pleased to announce the release of a live CD+DVD 2CD set featuring previously unreleased live sound and video footage from the band's June '09 performance at Le Triton, a live music venue located near Paris. The long-awaited release of this long-awaited live sound/film is now finally available. It was recorded just after the recording of "CLIVAGES" in 2010, and features Michel Berckmans (oboe), Andy Kirk (g/perc/key), who had temporarily returned to the band at the time, and other members from the 70s/80s, as well as Kurt Bude (cla/sax), Pierre Chevalier, Pierre Chevalier, and Kurt Bude (cla/sax). The album includes live performances of the band at its peak, when it was at its best as a "band" since its revival in 1999, with members from the 70s/80s such as Kurt Bude (cla/sax), Pierre Chevalier (key), Dimitri Evers (b), Martin Lauwers (vl), and others. Starting with "Presage", a popular song that symbolizes the masterpiece "UZED", "Xenantaya "Civic Circus" (included in "THE HARD QUEST" in 1999), which has been a setlist staple at the band's live performances since their revival, "Toujours Plus a l'Est", which was originally released in Japan only in 1983 on a 12" disc. The album ends with "Toujours Plus a l'Est", another live classic that was originally only included on the 12" EP "CRAWLING WIND", "Warrior" by Andy Kirk, which would later appear on "CLIVAGES", and the killer "Dense", which is a song that easily surpasses the studio work. The band performed many of their best-known songs with the weight and dynamism of the originators of chamber rock, in a tension that is soaring, you can enjoy the essence of UNIVERS ZERO from both aural and visual perspectives! A must have for all avant-rock/records fans!
