Description:

Commemorating the 110th anniversary of Argenta's birth. The first SA-CD release of Argenta's masterpieces. The first SA-CD release of Argenta's masterpieces. Superb recording! Two works produced by Carchot are released with Montoux's "Firebird" Suite. The first SA-CD release of Ataulfo Argenta's "Symphonie fantastique" (1913-1958), one of the most famous recordings of the composer, along with his "Espana" (with the London Symphony Orchestra), also from DECCA, and the first SA-CD release of this historical masterpiece from the original analog master tape. This is the first SA-CD reissue of this classic recording. For the coupling, we have added Stravinsky's "Firebird" Suite, an early stereo recording from 1956, with Montoux conducting the same Orchestre de la Conservatoire de Paris, with John Culshaw as producer for both pieces, Ken Kress as engineer for "Illusion" and the famous This is the most recent reissue from the original analog master tapes in Paris, at the dawn of DECCA's stereo recording era.The excellent DECCA recording technology captures the rare sound of the Orchestre de Paris of yesteryear. Enjoy this excellent recording in high sound quality. The Symphonie fantastique was recorded about two months before Argenta's death. It is a performance that will remain in the memory of many classical music fans for a long time to come, as a performance that promises to be a worldwide success. It is no exaggeration to say that the loss of Argenta, not only as a Spanish conductor but also as one of the most passionate and dynamic conductors of his generation, is a great loss to the world of conducting. This recording is a rare trinity of Argenta's passion, the unique sound of the Orchestre de la Conservatoire de Paris including the former French wind instruments of the time, and the excellent DECCA recording, a performance that deserves to be heard for a long time to come. The entire performance is filled with a vital and strong core of energy, making it a unique and appealing source compared to many competing recordings. The recording is in its early days in stereo, but it captures the characteristics of the Argenta well, and thanks to DECCA's early efforts in stereo recording in continental Europe, this stereo recording was realized just in time.Although the labels were different, EMI (PATHE MARCONI) at that time had not started stereo recordings in France at that time, so it could be said that the contract with DECCA made Argenta's dynamism more prominent in recordings and made him even more famous as a conductor. It may be said that the contract with DECCA made Argenta's dynamism more prominent in recordings and made him more famous as a conductor. (1/2)
