In the Munich concert recorded here, Rattle reportedly conducted this lengthy and difficult work from memory. The Seventh Symphony is performed by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, which is regarded as one of the world's finest orchestras and is dedicated to Rattle's interpretation of the work.
