The album includes three works that won the 2022 Azrieli Music Prize, a composition competition for Jewish and Canadian music by the Azrieli Foundation, founded by Canadian soprano Sharon Azrieli, who is also an artist on the album. The work of Iman Habibi, born in Tehran, Iran, and now living in Canada, contrasts the singers of traditional Persian music that drive the entire work with the audible orchestral music, and the sound of the setar, a traditional stringed repellent instrument. Aaron Harrap, who was born in Canada and now lives in Israel, will perform a work by a soprano singing a text from the Old Testament Psalms. Vancouver-based Rita Ueda's work features the Japanese shō, the Chinese sheng, and the sōna (so-called "charmera"). Naxos Japan
