To commemorate SAXON's first visit to Japan in 13 years, SAXON is releasing three previously unreleased Japanese albums with bonus discs! Battering Ram" is the 21st album by SAXON since their last album "Sacrifice" (a siege weapon designed to break through and destroy castle gates and walls). Production on this album began in January 2015 and was released in October of the same year. The album will be Andy Sneep's first SAXON album to be solely produced by Andy Sneep, and this album is another heavy and powerful European power metal album that pushes forward from the previous album. The band is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and Biff Byford, the band's iconic vocalist, has not declined at all, and his vocals are even more powerful. The album's iconic opening track, the title track "Battering Ram," is an anthemic song featuring the fiery twin guitars of Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt.The album also includes "Stand Your Ground," "Top Of The World," and many other classic songs that are sure to get the crowd going. Biff's beloved son, Seb Byford (b. 1997), provides backing vocals on this album. He himself has played in bands such as NAKID SIX and SUN KING, and formed a metal unit called HEAVY WATER with his father, Biff, and released two albums, "Red Brick City" (2021) and "Dreams Of Yesterday" (2023). Seb also released two albums, Red Brick City (2021) and Dreams Of Yesterday (2023). Seb continued to provide backing vocals on SAXON albums after this album, and also supported Biff when he recorded vocals, which was a great pleasure for Biff. The bonus disc for this album is "SAXON Over Sweden 2011," which was only included in the box set released in Germany, and a full live performance (18 songs!) at the Swedish Rock Festival. !
