Formed in France in 1973 around the talented pianist and composer Cyril Verdo, Clear Light is both Verdo’s solo project and a progressive rock band. Having received a classical music education from a young age, he joined the rock band “BABYLON” in 1971 and began his career in the rock music scene in earnest. Inviting various guest musicians for each album, they released works showcasing a wide range of musical styles—including their signature lyrical phrases, classical/symphonic arrangements, and electronic sounds—and continue to enjoy strong support from dedicated progressive rock fans to this day. Now, the four albums Clear Light released in the early 1970s, along with their latest album released in 2014, make their debut in a new Japan-exclusive UHQCD/paper sleeve edition! Released in 1978, this album features a total of 15 guest artists, led by Didier Lockwood (vn), the former violinist of the French progressive rock band Magma, who also participated on the previous album, *The Tales of the Mad Monkey*. The artwork features an eye-catching design by Brazilian painter Sergio Macedo that embodies the philosophy of yoga. True to this image, the album is a trippy soundscape that incorporates elements of healing music and an Oriental flavor, with sounds reflecting Eastern philosophy—such as the introduction of the tabla and birdsong—taking center stage. In addition to the main tracks (1–6), the bonus tracks include seven songs recorded in 1980 and 1983, including a remix of Track 5.
