Description:

Ota and Wada's performance can be described as calm and honest. Without being overly sentimental, they beautifully exploited the sound and structure that Tchaikovsky wanted to highlight in the orchestra. Every melodic line and interplay of passages between voices is conveyed in a straightforward and compassionate manner. It is strange that this four-hand version sounds not only like a simplified version, but also like a version created by refining the framework of the score. It sounds fresh and new, as if a new life has been breathed into it. Of course, the light and brilliant passages that only a duet can provide are a delight as well.
