Yoeko Kurahashi, aka "Yoeko Kurahashi," who made a comeback last year after a 15-year absence, releases an album! The album is a richly rich collection of self covers and new songs in a "concentrated, non-reduced" style. While a student at a music college, she passed an audition by record company Warner Music Japan under the name of "Yo Eco Kurahashi." In 2000, she made her independent debut and began her full-fledged career as a singer-songwriter. In June 2008, she announced that she would no longer be a singer, and embarked on her last tour, the "Grateful Kaitai Yoeko Tour," which took her to six cities throughout Japan. The tour concluded with two days at Tokyo Kinema Club. In response to a petition from fans, the live DVD "Kaitai Yoeko Show" was released on September 20, 2010. On July 1, 2023, 15 years after the "Declaration of Discontinuance," she suddenly announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she would resume her activities as "Yoeko" and became a trending topic. The SNS was abuzz with comments such as "I've been waiting a long time" and "I became a fan after the 'business closing' announcement, so I'm glad to see her back.Many J-pop artists, singers, and comedians say they were greatly influenced by Yoeko, and the aftermath of her resurgence was so great that they talked about their feelings toward Yoeko while airing her songs on the radio. On September 20, her birthday, she released her first album "New Yoeko" under the name Yoeko, which made the Oricon charts, but the effects of the corona appeared in her throat, and she had to forgo a recording live in tears. In the spring of 2024, they held their first event in 15 years in Kichijoji on an invitation-only basis. This second album contains a total of eight tracks, including six cover versions of songs from the Warner Music era, including the lead and A-side songs, as well as a new song that was performed for the first time at the Kichijoji event and a piano version of that song. The performance by the jazz trio band and the aggressive groove of Yoeko's songs make for a rich, "concentrated, unreduced" album filled with her charms.
