This is the work completed by weaving songs and poems from his wanderings on the island of Hydra in Greece, in Europe, and in the United States. His vocals, which are profoundly resonant, suggest double meaning, and the way he sings is like a gentle caress to a woman. Cohen is nothing but Cohen, and we are convinced that he is essentially unchanging. Among the songs on the album, "Bird on the Wire" was picked up by Tim Hardin, and in 1990 it was sung by the Neville Brothers, making it one of his best-known songs. (Original release date: 1968)
