Karl Richter, Munich Bach Orchestra

Description:

Carl Richter, the Authority of Bach, in Japan for 69 years! Four performances of "Matthew" and "Mass in B minor" with harpsichord & organ solo. This is what Bach is all about! The overwhelming expressive power that determined the Japanese audience's view of Bach : "Golberg" has an overwhelming centripetal force, Richter at the peak of his powers! Even when he plays the harpsichord, this sense of structure and gravity is the very embodiment of Bach. This is a record of a legendary concert of Richter's Golberg at the peak of his career, a concert full of tension on his first visit to Japan. The enthusiasm on the day was great, and when compared to the many performances by contemporary harpsichordists, the unique power of the performance was once again impressive. This is truly a great performance by a great German. The sound quality is also excellent, and you will be astonished at the sound quality that makes you think it is the latest recording. <DISC2: Richter, the great temple of sound! The original NHK tapes are in good condition and the sound quality is almost like that of the 1960s. Richter's art is the power and intensity of his live performances, and the sound quality is even more fascinating. The sound quality is fascinatingly powerful, and you can hear Richter at the peak of his powers of expression. <DISC3-5: NHK's live recording of Richter's first visit to Japan in 1969. The reissue has been carefully remastered by ALTUS and is now available in the highest standard of sound quality. This is a moving gem that expands the overwhelming world of the great Bach master Richter with unprecedented precision. The 58-year studio recording of "Matthew" by Richter reigns supreme as a masterpiece, but the live performance of Richter's "Matthew" also deserves to be heard. The overwhelming presence of the massive, huge sound and the enthusiasm that only a live performance can produce will make you roar with excitement. The performance of Bach is intense and nostalgic, with a harsh and powerful sound, but also with a romantic swell at times. This is a great performance that will touch your heart with its true-to-life music. From the deep, heavy bass continuo in the opening chorus and the magnificent worldview, Richter, who has already become Bach incarnate, is at his best. The diminished seventh chord in "Barabbas! is a terrific and terrible seven-note chord. The "Truly, this man was the son of God" also gives me goosebumps, and is the ultimate in timeless beauty.Compared to the neo-imagistic, stark interpretation and raw sound of the 1958 session recording on the Alheif label that immortalized Richter as a Bach interpreter, this recording has a softer legato, a more natural progression, and a greater sense of breath and excitement, as if in a wave.
