Included is Josquin des Prez's masterpiece "Ave Maria". This is the fifth release (fourth on the Regulus label) by Capella, a vocal ensemble specializing in authentic medieval and Renaissance music. This album features beautiful Maria motets by French and Flemish composers active during the Renaissance. The Capella sings with all their heart and soul in carefully selected masterpieces such as "Ave Maria" and "Salve Regina" by the great master Josquin, all of which are fragrant with the fragrance of prayers to the Blessed Virgin. ＜Founded in 1997 by Tetsuro Hanai, Capella is a vocal ensemble of professional vocalists whose repertoire consists mainly of Gregorian chant and Flemish religious music. The aim is to revive the essence of the religious works of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, which are artistically highly refined and unparalleled in their spiritual depth, in the modern age.We sing around a choir book using the old notation system to reproduce the performance customs of the time, pursuing the most appropriate pronunciation and vocalization, etc. In addition, by singing music created for the liturgy within an appropriate framework, we strive to reflect the religious meaning of the work in our performance, and to achieve a peaceful and healing sound for the heart and soul.
