Narek Ahnajaryan's first full-fledged CD album is now available! Narek Ahnajaryan, a young prodigy born in Armenia, studied under Rostropovich from the age of 14, and since winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011 at the young age of 22, he has performed with the world's leading orchestras and musicians, quickly becoming one of the foremost cellists in the field. His first full-fledged CD album will be released by ARS Produktion. Inspired by the medieval figure of the bard in Glazunov's "The Bard's Song," the album is a collection of works for cello and orchestra that Ahnazaryan recorded with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra conducted by his brother Tigran in September 2018, just before he turned 30 years old, This program captures the sound of the cello as one unified voice.Following well-known works such as Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" and Tchaikovsky's "Rococo Variations," three highly lyrical Ukrainian-born American composer and composer-in-residence of the Armenian National Symphony Orchestra, Alexei Shore (Shaw, Shor) The program also features a wealth of composers associated with their native Armenia, including a small piece, "Improvisation" by Arutyunian, who was strongly influenced by the improvisations of a bard called Ashugu, and "Nocturne" by Eduard Baghdasaryan, who was made an honorary artist of Armenia in 1963.
