Rediscovering Lyapunov's charms, the young technical pianist Noack is fully prepared for the challengeBelgian pianist Florian Noack, born in 1990, is active in superb works and has been gaining fans in Japan since his first visit to Japan in 2018. Noack feels a special interest and attachment to Lyapunov's piano music and has previously released two albums on the Ars Production label. This time, the la dolce volta label is releasing Lyapunov's masterpiece and most important work, the 12 Super Exercises. It is feared for its unusual degree of difficulty, using 12 sharp tonalities not used in Liszt's work of the same name, and combining Liszt's brilliance with Balakirev's high voltage. Noack was 14 years old when he heard of the work and wrote of his surprise and anger that such a meticulously written masterpiece had been so unjustly neglected. There have been several discs of this work, but the depth of Noack's understanding of Lyapunov's music is overwhelming. A commentary by Noack himself (translated into Japanese) is included.
