Description:
Brilliant Weber by Raphaël SeverThe Weber by Raphaël Sever, a rising star in the clarinet world. In the concerto, he is joined by the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin led by the energetic conductor Shohakimov, and in the work with piano, he is joined by the genius Jean-Frédéric Neubourger in this remarkable recording! Raphaël Sever was born in 1994 into a musical family. After attending the Conservatoire de Nantes, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris at the age of 14. 2010 he was selected for the French Victoires de la Musique, and in 2013 he won first prize and 8 additional prizes (10 in all) at the Young Concerts Artists in New York. He has performed with renowned orchestras and chamber music with Modigliani SQ, Argerich, Berezovsky, Kremer, and others. In 2013, he premiered Poulenc's incidental music "The Traveler without Luggage" at the request of the Musique de France. Weber's most famous works are his operas, including "The Luggage-Free Traveler. Weber is best known for his operas, but he is also renowned as one of the best pianists of his time, and has left important works for piano, chamber music, and clarinet. In the concerto, he is in perfect harmony with the orchestra led by conductor Shohakimov, and the second movement is heavenly and beautiful. The two works with piano are difficult pieces that require brilliant technique on both clarinet and piano, but with the support of the prodigious Nuebrugge, they are brilliantly performed.
