O Terno

Description:

2 LPs, embossed special gatefold cover Chapter 2 of the Brazilian Song Cycle. New Brazilian singer/songwriter of the new generation, Chin Bernardes, leads his band O Terno for this 2019 LP release. Featuring guest appearances by Shintaro Sakamoto and Devendra Banhart! With songwriting reminiscent of Caetano Veloso, orchestral arrangements reminiscent of Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks, and a fetish for sound using vintage equipment, Chinnardes has attracted many fans of Brazilian music and good music alike. The solo work of Chin Bernardes, "Hecomesar," has attracted many good music fans as well as Brazilian music fans. It has been highly acclaimed not only in Brazil but also in Japan, where it was ranked in Music Magazine's "100 Best Brazilian Music Albums of All Time", and is attracting attention as a driving force of Brazilian music in the 2020s. The new album by Chin Bernardes' band, O Terno, is titled "ATRAS / ALEM.The highlight of the release is the 7inch "Volta e Meia" featuring Shintaro Sakamoto and Devendra Banhart, which was released earlier. The collaboration was inspired by a performance at a festival in Germany. The song is a magical piece of modern orchestral pop with cheap rhythm box rhythms, strings, and even winds, as well as Shintaro Sakamoto's poetry reading and Devendra's Spanish lyrics, which are based on her Venezuelan roots. The song "Tudo Que Eu Não Fiz" is dreamy with a hint of psychedelia reminiscent of Caetano Veloso and Mutantis, "Nada / Tudo" is overwhelming with its exquisite arrangement that allows for dynamic development, and "Tudo" is a magical tune with strings and chorus. Bielzinho / Bielzinho," which combines the orchestral sound of strings and chorus with samba rhythms .... The album continues the orchestral pop line that could be described as a sequel to Chin Bernardes' "Hecomesar," but with an even greater sense of scale. This is a truly evergreen masterpiece that should be heard beyond the confines of Brazil. The special jacket and 2LP set are pricey, but it's a limited pressing, so get it while it's still in stock.
