Popular drummer Joe Farnsworth presents his third leader album for Smoke Sessions Records, his first in a year and a half. Joe Farnsworth was born in Massachusetts in 1968. His style of playing is orthodox and jazz royalty. He has steadily built a career playing and recording with such major artists as George Coleman, Benny Golson, Pharaoh Sanders, Curtis Fuller, Horace Silver, and Diana Krall, and has become one of the top drummers in the jazz world. He is also very active as a regular drummer in Harold Mayburn's trio and the Eric Alexander Quartet, both of which have sadly passed away.This album is positioned as a turning point in his career, and is led by Kurt Rosenwinkel, Immanuel Wilkins (sax), whose debut album was voted the #1 jazz album of 2020 by the New York Times, Julius Rodriguez (p), and Robert Hurst (bass), all of whom are up-and-coming musicians. (bass), a new quintet was formed to discover the talents of their generation and the younger generation.
