Ashley Henry was born in 1991 in South London and started playing the piano at home at the age of 5 or 6. She studied at the Brit School, which produced Adele and Amy Winehouse, Leeds College of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music. 2016 saw the release of her EP "Ashley Henrys 5ive" on Jazz re:freshed and 2018 saw the release of her "Easter EP" on Sony Music UK released the "Easter EP". This album, "Beautiful Vinyl Hunter," will be his first full studio album. Ahead of the album's release, a music video for "Between the Lines" featuring Keillon Harold, a trumpeter who inherits Miles' DNA, has been released. Ashley joined Keyon Harold on his UK and European tour last year, which led to Ashley's guest appearance on this album. Rapper Sparks, who appears in the newly released music video, is a Manchester-based artist and has been a friend of Ashley's since they met while Ashley was studying at a music college in Leeds. The video, which features the same friends who have been making music together for the past 10 years, was directed by Vikesh Govind, an up-and-coming young visual artist in the UK.Ashley is a fanatic who has been collecting analog records since he was about 7 years old, and the artwork for this album, including the single cover, was all done by a designer friend of his. Ashley says, "I wanted the music I created to be visually appealing as well, so I teamed up with a young creator of my age to create the visuals. Now that I am in a position to release my own music, vinyl is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Vinyl used to be my input, but now it's coming back as the output of my music," he says. The album features an eclectic mix of guests from different nationalities and generations, including "beat scientist" Makaya McRaven, Moses Boyd, Binker Golding, Theo Kroeker, Eddie Hick, Luke Flowers of The Cinematic Orchestra, Joshua Eidehen, and many more. and Joshua Eidehen of The Cinematic Orchestra. Track 6, "Cranes (In the Sky)," is an instrumental cover by Solange, but the rest of the songs are all original compositions by Ashley and friends. The songs vary in tone, and there are high expectations for Ashley's future as a composer.
