Jonas Kaufmann, whose performances are eagerly awaited by the world's opera world, delivered an unprecedented singing performance in Japan in January 2018, mixing the overwhelming brilliance of his voice with the maturity and skill he has accumulated. The new Kaufmann recording, which is being released on short notice, was recorded live at a solo recital held on July 13, 2018 in Waldbühne, Berlin, and completely knocked out the 20,000-plus audience that had gathered. Following the preceding CD release, a video of the entire concert will be released on DVD and BD. The first half of the performance features a famous aria from "Gioconda" followed by a famous scene from Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana," which he first sang in 2015. In the second half, she will perform a series of Italian songs, Neapolitan folk songs, and famous Italian pop melodies from the album "Dolce Vita" (Japanese version is "Go Home to Sorrento - Italian Songs"), which was released in 2016 and became an international best seller.The encore, "No one shall sleep," will be the final performance of the evening. The mezzo-soprano Anita Rachivelishvili (whose solo album was released by Sony Classical in 2018), who was selected for the leading role in "Carmen" at La Scala in 2009 and has made a splash with her outstanding singing, joins the ensemble for a duet.
