Classical "Super Trio" in Breathtaking Chamber Music RecordingNew recordings of Rachmaninoff and Brahms by the acclaimed classical "super trio," pianist Yuja Wang, clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer, and cellist Gautier Capuçon, who are known as the "super trio" of the classical music world. Listening to the performances, it is clear that an innate, almost telepathic bond of musical communication exists among the three. The album was recorded at the Konzerthaus Dortmund in 2021. It includes the cello sonata that Rachmaninoff dedicated to the exceptional cellist, who was 14 years his senior but a great friend; the cello sonata that Brahms spent three years in his late 20s completing; and the clarinet trio written in the summer of 1891, in Brahms' final years. The melancholic atmosphere of this trio is evocative of an aging composer contemplating retirement and death. Universal Music/IMS
