The Chopin Project is an ambitious project that sheds new light on Chopin's works through the cello. 3-CD deluxe editionThe Chopin Project is an ambitious album by Camille Thomas, a Belgian cellist of French descent who has long had a strong admiration for Chopin's works. 3 CD set. Chopin for Cellists" (CD 1) is a collection of Chopin's famous pieces that transcend history, shedding new light on his music through arrangements by Auguste-Joseph Franschaume, who supported Chopin until the end, as well as by Glazunov, Kreisler, Mischa Maisky and others. The "Complete Chamber Music" (CD 2) contains three of Chopin's chamber works for cello and piano. Two of the works were composed with Franschaume. The Trio is rarely performed because it is difficult for the piano, but it is a wonderful work that Chopin wrote when he was young. The "Franschaume Legacy" (CD 3) brings together Franschaume's works and four of Chopin's arrangements for cello by Franschaume, performed on Franschaume's legendary cello, the 1730 Stradivarius Feuermann. Thomas also believes that the emotions expressed by music, such as love, sadness, and melancholy, are the same today as they were 200 years ago, and he has chosen the famous chanson "Jane B," based on Chopin's Prelude No. 4 by Serge Gainsbourg, as the final piece on CD 1. It is performed with Jane Birkin. Thomas says the album is not only a timeless tribute to the two greats, Chopin and Franschaume, but also a hymn to "friendship.
