This new release is *The Shel Talmy Recordings*, a collection that captures the pre-*David Bowie* era—essentially a prequel to his rich career—and nearly comprehensively documents the recordings he made with “The Shell Talmi Recordings,” a collection that captures the artist on the eve of becoming “David Bowie,” featuring recordings made with him during the 1960s—a period when he was still known as “Davie Jones” and collaborated with The Who and The Kinks to create groundbreaking hits. Featuring a total of 22 tracks, including previously unreleased material and rare demos from that era, *The Shell Talmy Recordings* While the album is of immense historical value simply for its masterful compilation of recordings from this pivotal period—just before Bowie embarked on his career as David Bowie—it also features contributions from Jimmy Page, who was working as a session guitarist at the time and would later become the legendary guitarist for the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin, as well as as well as pianist Nicky Hopkins—renowned for his collaborations with the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, The Who, and Jeff Beck—further enhancing its historical significance.
