Description:
Savard's latest release in his historical tale series! The stage is once again set for a spectacular folk music journey through the "cultural melting pot" of the Balkan Peninsula! Savard, who has been telling the history of various regions with their native folk music, has chosen the Balkan Peninsula, a land rich in history with the names of "honey (Bal) and blood (Kan)". The Balkan Peninsula, which has a rich history of "honey (baru) and blood (kan)," has been the focus of Savall's music since the release of his well-received 2013 album "Balkan Spirit" (AVSA9898), and this time he has chosen a more spectacular and original program. This time, the program is even more spectacular and original. The contents of the series are designed to provide a fascinating insight into a cultural melting pot that has been intricately woven together for more than 3,000 years. The "Historical Tale Series" is also notable for its abundant use of traditional instruments. The recording of this program features instruments unique to the region, such as the kaval (Bulgarian traditional flute), nayi (Turkish traditional flute), santur (Iranian percussion instrument similar to the cimbalon), and duduk. The sound of the duduk, an Armenian traditional woodwind instrument similar to the oboe, is particularly beautiful and a must-hear. The sad yet beautiful sound of the duduk grabs the hearts of listeners and moves them deeply. Two songs by the late Figueras, who deeply loved these sounds, are also included. The album ends with a tutti (ensemble) consisting of more than 20 musicians, which also expresses Savard's desire for peace and unity in the Balkan Peninsula. The album comes with a 600-page booklet, a familiar feature of the series. King International Inc.
