Two works based on Monteverdi's Madrigale, conducted by Margoire. Tancredi and Clorinda" tells the story of the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century. It depicts the tragic love between Tancredi, a Crusader warrior, and Clorinda, a female Muslim warrior. The "Ballo (Dance) of the Unloving Women" was commissioned in 1608 to celebrate the birthday of the son of the Duke of Mantova, who was Monteverdi's court music director at the time. It was also performed as a ballet choreographed to a madrigale. It is a masterful performance with a gentle yet tense atmosphere. The booklet contains only a brief synopsis (in European language) and does not include lyrics or bilingual translation. Sony Music
