Born in Turin in 1716, three years after the death of the Baroque master Corelli, he traveled Europe as a violinist, playing in Paris, Berlin, and especially London. In his later years he traveled to Russia, where Giardini died in Moscow in 1796, the year before Schubert was born, leaving behind a flute sonata that is light and elegant. Performed by the Italian duo of Gentili Tedeschi, a flutist born in Milan, and Petrucci, a harpsichordist born in Rome. Tobu Shoji Co.
