The album features "Evening Songs" by Dvorak, Smetana, Fybih, and Suk. The lyrics are all love poems for "Evening Song" by Vycheslav Hálek, and you can enjoy the differences in expression between the composers. Adam Plachetka studied in Prague, won first prize at the Dvorak International Vocal Competition, and in September 2010 became a member of the Vienna State Opera, making his debut as Schaunard in "La Boheme. She then made her solo debut with Handel's oratorio arias (recorded August & September 2012) (SU-4116) with the Czech Ensemble Baroque under the direction of Válek. A regular performer at the MET and the Salzburg Festival in recent years, she has attracted attention as a talented singer who can handle not only dramatic roles, especially Mozart, but also comic ones, and is highly acclaimed for her stable bass, ample volume, and extended singing voice. She has released a collection of Mozart and Salieri opera arias (PTC-5187022) with the Czech Ensemble Baroque led by Roman Válek. (King International)
