Description:
2014 Salzburg Festival Live Melody Maker, Schubert's Charming Opera "Fierabras" Live video of Schubert's opera "Fierabras" performed at the 2014 Salzburg Festival. Schubert is known as the "King of Songs," and his beautiful melodies have been sung in many of his works. However, when it comes to operas, Schubert's works are rarely performed and are little known. In fact, Schubert wrote 10 operas, as far as is known, but they were rarely performed during his lifetime. The main reason is said to be that, like Mozart, he was not blessed with a strong script like Da Ponte. However, it can be said that in all of his works, Schubert's style of beautiful music colors the entire work and brings the story to life. In recent years, Schubert's operas have been re-evaluated, and "Fierabras" was performed at the Salzburg Festival in 2014. Fierabras" was Schubert's last opera, composed in 1823. Although it has been reevaluated, with Claudio Abbado performing the entire work in 1988, this is the first time it has been sold in Japan with Japanese subtitles. Ingo Metzmacher, who is well known in Japan for his performances with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted the production, and the Vienna Philharmonic performed it.Metzmacher's detailed and crisp music is perfectly supported by the Vienna Philharmonic. The Vienna Philharmonic perfectly supports Metzmacher's detailed and crisp music. Michael Schade, one of the most beautiful tenors of our time, sings Fierabras, and Georg Zeppenfeldt, an internationally acclaimed bass singer, plays King Karl with great dignity. The soprano Julia Kreiter, who has recently performed with such conductors as Arnoncourt and Muti, gives a fine performance with her clean singing, and Dorothea Reschmann, a famous German soprano active in classical music and lieder, sings with a steady voice, adding to the splendor of the female cast. The production was directed by Peter Stein, a leading figure in the German theater world. The stage is simple and beautiful, focusing on Schubert's music. King International
