Description:

Little Feat is a cult rock band that epitomized the American rock scene of the 1970s. With their bold, funky rock sound—which seamlessly blended Southern R&B, boogie, country, and other genres—they have amassed a fervent following around the world. At the heart of the band is rock 'n' roll legend Lowell George—guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. This long-awaited reissue is a lavish tribute album produced by his musical colleagues and those he holds dear! Little Feat is a cult rock band that epitomized the American rock scene of the 1970s, boasting a bold and funky rock sound that incorporated various genres—including Southern R&B, boogie, and country—and garnering a passionate following worldwide. At the heart of the band is Lowell George, a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of rare talent who has influenced countless artists and musicians from his own era to the present day, and continues to command their respect. Born and raised in Hollywood, California, George mastered multiple instruments at a young age. His extraordinary talent quickly caught the eye of Frank Zappa, leading to his joining “The Mothers of Invention.” In 1969, after parting ways with Zappa, George formed Little Feat. With Zappa’s backing, the band signed with Warner Bros. Records and, thanks to their originality and exceptional musicianship, quickly earned a reputation as “musicians’ musicians.” George was backed by outstanding players such as keyboardist Bill Payne and drummer Richie Hayward, and the fusion of their talents created a truly unique sound. Although Little Feat did not immediately top the charts during their Warner Bros. era, they garnered the support of enthusiastic fans and deep respect from their peers. As time went on, their innovative music, which fused various styles, was embraced by a wide audience, leading them to earn three gold and one platinum record. George’s songwriting left an indelible mark on music history, producing timeless classics such as “Willin’,” “Dixie Chicken,” and “Sailin’ Shoes.” However, in 1979, internal pressures led to the band’s breakup. George embarked on a solo career and released his only solo album, *Thanks, I’ll Eat It Here*, on Warner Bros. Tragically, that same year, while on a promotional tour for the album, he passed away suddenly at the young age of 34. (1/2)
