This is a collection of music written for Francis of Assisi, a Roman Catholic saint known as the founder of the Franciscan order. The chants, which originated during the Medieval and Renaissance periods, from the 13th to 16th centuries, resonate majestically. The music is performed by Anonima Flotristi, an Italian group of ancient music featuring mainly male vocalists. Their voices and the ensemble of ancient instruments create a mystical space.
