Description:

The 125-year history of the Munich Philharmonic benefits from its close relationship with German music and numerous composers. The Munich Philharmonic is much older than the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, which was founded in 1944 after the war, and was founded in 1893. The works of Bruckner and Mahler in particular have a close relationship, with Mahler premiering Symphonies No. 4 and No. 8 under his own baton, and his pupil Walter premiering "Ode to the Earth". The orchestra is steeped in history. In recent years, Rudolf Kempe, Sergiu Celibidacke, James Levine, Christian Thielemann, and Lorin Maazel have served as music directors, and in September 2015, Walery Gergiev took over, creating his own unique program while respecting the history of the orchestra and creating a buzz. The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra has been making a splash with its unique programs while respecting its history. The Munich Philharmonic will release a limited-edition box containing live performances of the orchestra's historic masterpieces to commemorate its 125th anniversary. The box also includes the superb "Hero" by Knappertsbusch, which was highly praised by Mr. Kuniyoshi Uno, who had a close relationship with the orchestra in addition to the conductor who assumed the position of Music Director, as well as rare live recordings by Fritz Rieger, Eugen Jochum, Zubin Mehta, Horst Stein, Günter Wandt, and others. and Günter Wandt. These recordings have been newly mastered from the original master tapes jointly owned by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bayerischer Rundfunk. The recording was remastered at 96 kHz/24-bit from the original master tapes by Christian Starke, an engineer who has recorded and remastered for various labels, and the final mastering was done by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has recently mastered under the supervision of ECM and has worked on many of Keith Jarrett's albums. The final mastering was done by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has worked on many of Keith Jarrett's albums, and brings back the tension of the live performance. This is the only official source as of 2018 (except for CDs 8-9), although it includes out-of-sequence recordings released by other companies. With the release of this box set, the rare recordings on the original master tapes have been reproduced using the latest technology in 2018. Warner Music Japan
