Their worldwide breakthrough debut album, "A FEVER YOU CAN'T SWEAT OUT/ Fever Never Stops", which sold over 2 million copies in the U.S. and was awarded a platinum disc, is now available in a 2-LP set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release! The album will be reissued in a deluxe edition on analog LP vinyl to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its release. Combining an electro, danceable emo sound with theatrical, decadent stage performances and promotional videos, Panic! At the 2006 MTV Video Awards, "I Right Sins Not Tragedies - Someday Wedding" won Video of the Year. It beat out "Danny California" by Letchli and "Hang Up" by Madonna to win the award. Moreover, when the first album was released, all the members were between 17 and 18 years old! Guitarist Ryan, who wrote all the lyrics for the album, described his influences for the quirky lyrics at the time: "The influences are things that have happened to me, but I don't like to just write them down like a diary, so I make them into a story. It's like a short story. I also like to read. I never really liked band lyrics, I'm more of a novelist. So I try to write lyrics more like a writer than a songwriter." After several member changes, the band eventually became Brendon Urie's solo project, but in 2023, he announced the end of his career. However, in 2025, the band will return for the "When We Were Young" festival. The 20th anniversary edition of the album includes the latest remastering of the original album on LP1, and previously unreleased demos of the album tracks on LP2.
