The long-awaited new album by Lucrecia Dalt, an experimental artist based in Berlin, Germany. Born in Pereira, Colombia, Lucrecia Dalt grew up in a family of music lovers who encouraged her to pick up the guitar at the age of nine. Following this creative impulse, Dalt became fascinated with computer-based production and abandoned her burgeoning career as a civil engineer to move from Medellín to Barcelona and eventually to Berlin, where she developed her own unique and adventurous sound.She has released three albums since moving to RVNG, "Anticlines" (2018), "No era solida" (2020), and the notable and groundbreaking sci-fi bolero album "iAy!" in 2022, and in the process has released "On Becoming a Guinea Fowl" (2024), the HBO series "The Baby" (2022), and the upcoming psychological horror film "Rabbit Trap". Her sound installations and performances showcase her luminous modulations and unique, evolving vocal approach. The forthcoming release, "A Danger to Ourselves," was born out of the fragmented declarations Dalt wrote down during the formative years of her life and new relationships while touring with iAy! She began to crystallize these intimate fragments into musical compositions in January 2024, gradually giving shape to a purposeful body of songs.The album's sound structure is based on dynamic drum loops provided by collaborator Alex Lazaro, whose percussive backbone became the canvas for Dalt's layered vocals, as in "iAy! Rather than following a conventional melodic structure, the album's musicality is created through the interplay of bass lines, rhythms, and compositional design. Bold production choices and meticulous recording techniques reveal Dalt's uncompromising quest for sonic clarity, where voice and instrument blend with new depth and brilliance. (1/2)
