Description:
The beautiful singing of Eirin Lomv is also remarkable. This is the third in a series of excellent performances of gems from Sweden's rare sheet music collection! Northwest of Stockholm, near the medieval university town of Uppsala, the town of Leuvstavljuk (Løvstavljuk) prospered from the steel industry in the 17th and 18th centuries. One of the town's major contributors to its development was the Belgian-born capitalist Louis de Jahre, who was also known as a sheet music fanatic, and his vast collection of music scores is regarded as a valuable legacy of music history. The BIS label series creates "concert" style albums from this collection. Following the first (BIS-1526) and second (BIS-1975) collections by the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble and Nils-Erik Sparff, the third collection featuring the Baroque ensemble "Rebaroque" and soprano Erin Rombu is now released. The first five songs on the program are representative of hymns sung in town churches and lordships.F. I. de Bouc, whose date of birth and death is unknown, and who is speculated to be the same person as the Antwerp organist Joannes de Bouc, belongs to two published collections of keyboard music in the Löwstad-Brueck collection. The "No. 5 in G minor" from "Six Suites for Clavicembalo or Organ" is a four-movement work. It is performed on the organ. German-born Konrad Friedrich Hurlebusch (1691-1765) stayed in Sweden from 1723 to 1725 at the invitation of King Frederik I. He was a member of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. The first of his "Two Cantatas for Solo Voice and Passing Bass" is a beautifully composed cantata with the lines "Are you going away, my love...Please go, ungrateful man (Tu parti ido-lo mio?...Vanne ingrata)" and "But I am puzzled...Oh, I am puzzled...But I am puzzled...Oh, I am puzzled...Vanne ingrata...Vanne ingrata...". But I am perplexed...Oh, have pity on me (Mafol-le!...Deh! Muovetevi a pieta)" and "But I am perplexed...Oh, have pity on me (Mafol-le!...Deh! Muovetevi a pieta)" are two recitative and aria pieces. Hinrik (Henrik) Philip Jonsen (1716/17-1779), also born in Germany, came to Sweden in 1743 and died in Stockholm in 1779.The "Church Music for Easter 1757" consists of five pieces: "Glave," "Allegro," "Lat oss se pa Jesum" ("Hebrews" 12:2), "Mansjunger med gladje om seger" ("Psalm 118," verses 15-18), and "Till utgang. (Psalm 118, verses 15-18), and "Till utgang" ("Music of the Exit"). After the arietta from the comic opera "On ne s'avise jamais de tout" by the French composer Pierre-Alexandre Monsigny (1729-1817), who belonged to the same social class as the de Iers, an aria of unknown author whose manuscript remains and the first hymn on the album, "In Thee I Trust, O Lord, My Beloved" are sung. I trust in Thee, O Lord, my love" is sung. Eirin Lomv is a Swedish court singer. She made her debut at the Royal Swedish Opera House while a student at the Stockholm Opera University. She has appeared on the stages of opera houses in Berlin, Frankfurt, Holland, and Paris, and has performed with orchestras in many countries. The modern baroque ensemble Rebaroque was founded in 1998 as the Stockholm Baroque Orchestra in 1998. Maria Lindahl serves as concertmaster and artistic director, and the ensemble has been involved in a variety of activities and endeavors, including collaborations with the St. James Chamber Choir and the Swedish Radio Choir.
