Oyster Duo
Description:
Debut of the husband and wife duo of Anna Fedorova and Nicholas Schwartz! They trace various masterpieces and famous melodies on contrabass and piano. Anna Fedorova is a Ukrainian pianist who has been acclaimed by Jaap van Zweden and Martha Argerich, and is currently one of the main artists of Channel Classics. Fedorova's fifth Channel Classics recording is the first album by the Oyster Duo, a double bass and piano duo she formed with her husband, double bass player Nicholas Schwartz. Nicholas Schwarz was born in Boston, played with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra, participated in the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2012-13 season, and since 2013 has been a member of the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Since 2013, he has been a member of the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. The album "Stolen Pearls" (Stolen Pearls) is a program that travels in search of various "musical pearls" from Argentina, Germany, Austria, the United States, Russia, and Italy during the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to Bottezini's original works for double bass, the duo will perform masterpieces by Schumann, Schubert, Gershwin, Shostakovich, and others on the double bass, expanding the new appeal of the double bass as a solo instrument. Incidentally, the name "Oyster Duo" is derived from the oysters they ate on the Brazilian coast where they met. The delicate and refined quality of oysters and the wild taste of the sea are combined with the image of the rich tone of the double bass. Tokyo M-Plus
