Description:

Vasily Petrenko and Norway's renowned Oslo Philharmonic! Vasily Petrenko has been appointed Music Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, succeeding Charles Dutoit from 2021, and in January 2021, it was announced that he will take over as Artistic Director of the Svetlanov Memorial Russian State Symphony Orchestra from Vladimir Jurowski. Vasily Petrenko is forging ahead on his path as a master of the new era, as it has been announced that he will take over from Vladimir Jurowski as Artistic Director of the Svetlanov Memorial Russian State Symphony Orchestra in January 2021. The 10th work in the collaboration project between Petrenko, the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the high-quality Norwegian label LAWO continues the tradition of the previous work (LWC1207) with Prokofiev and one of the most prolific symphonic composers of the 20th century, Nikolai Myaskovsky ( 1881-1950), one of the most prolific symphonic composers of the 20th century. The sketch of Prokofiev's "Symphony No. 6" was written in 1944, before the completion of "Symphony No. 5," and completed in 1947.Prokofiev's great work, which was greatly influenced by the Great War and which his friend Myaskovsky "understood and recognized its true value only after hearing it three times," is coupled with the last symphony "No. 27" completed in 1949, Myaskovsky's last year of life. Expect Prokofiev & Myaskovsky from Vasily Petrenko, who has cultivated the beautiful sound of the Oslo Philharmonic with his clear, crisp sound and smart, refined rhythms! Tokyo M-Plus
