Description:

Chick Corea, Michel Legrand, Kenny Barron, Benny Green, and the pride of Japan, Makoto Ozone, Hiromi Uehara, and others will join Peterson in his home studio, playing Peterson's beloved Bösendorfer Imperial. Recorded on LP, "Oscar, with Love: The Songs of Oscar Peterson" is a major project that celebrates the achievements of Oscar Peterson, an undeniable giant in the history of jazz, and spotlights his appeal as a composer. The work was produced by Oscar Peterson's wife, Kelly Peterson, and released on CD in 2015 on her own label (Two Lions Records) to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Oscar's birth. Mack Avenue then released the same CD in 2017, 10 years after his death. This time, all of the songs from that 3-CD set have been collected on a 5-LP set and made into a work of art. (The order of the songs has been changed).Chick Corea, Monty Alexander, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron, Benny Green, Oliver Jones, Makoto Ozone, Linnie Rosnes, Bill Charlap, and other Oscar Peterson admirers. In addition, music maestro Michel Legrand joined on two songs. Gerald Clayton, Justin Kauflin, and Hiromi Uehara are among the young musicians who have been greatly supported by Oscar Peterson. In addition, the recording was made at Oscar Peterson's home studio, where the artist played his cherished Bösendorfer Imperial piano. This piano was selected by Oscar himself in 1981, after a trip to the Bösendorfer factory. Of course, this is the first time this piano has been used outside of a private performance, and this is also the first time its tone has been made public. Some of the pieces played on this recording were not recorded by Oscar himself, and many of them are being performed for the first time in the world. It is interesting to note that one of the songs is performed by Michel Legrand. Meanwhile, Chick Corea, Makoto Ozone, Hiromi Uehara, and Robi Botos perform original songs dedicated to Oscar. Although Oscar Peterson sadly passed away in 2007, his bluesy, sophisticated, and lovely music will be played and passed down to the next generation. This is a new way to enjoy the greatness that he bequeathed to the music of jazz, a music that will be immortalized forever! This work is also dedicated to Norman Granz, who produced/backed up Oscar Peterson's music.【メンバー】Monty Alexander, Lance Anderson, Kenny Barron, Robi Botos, Bill Charlap, Gerald Clayton, Chick Corea, Benny Green, Hiromi, Oliver Jones, Justin Kauflin, Michel Legrand, Ramsey Lewis, Audrey Morris, Makoto Ozone, Renee Rosnes, Dave Young
