His first album since Around Britain (SIGCD 318) is The Protecting Veil, a religious work for cello and string orchestra composed by John Tavener for Stephen Isserlis. Before and after, the program combines works by Irish poet William Butler Yeats and Swiss religious & philosopher Fritschhoff Schuon (read by such noted actors as Olwen Huelet and Julie Christe, respectively), Burley's arrangement of Tavener's work, and Indian music with tabla, This is a special program unique to Matthew Burley.
