Roxanna Panufnik (b.1968), daughter of Andrzej Panufnik, is a Polish-British composer who is gaining increasing attention worldwide, with many of her works recorded on labels such as Signum, Chandos, Coro and Delphian. Inspired by the birth of Panufnik's first child in 2002, this collection of choral works on the theme of love is based on the noble mission of "building musical bridges between different faiths. The love songs are based on poems and chants of various faiths and cultures, including Anglican and Catholic, Spanish Sephardic, Sufi, and Zen, and are sung by Voches 8 and the London chamber choir "Colla Voches Singers". Zen Love Songs, based on Edo lullabies and poems by Soujun Ikkyu, will be performed by the shakuhachi and Voches 8. Tokyo M-Plus
