Zweden was born in 1960 in the Netherlands, and in 1979 he became the youngest conductor ever to serve as concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (until 1995). From 2005 to 2011, he served as Artistic Director of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, and later as Honorary Chief Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. From the choice of manuscripts to the actual sound of each piece, Zweden's thoroughness in music making can be appreciated once again in this rare boxed set.(When the digipak box is opened, the set is designed to have each disc in its own sleeve case.)
