Fields Of The Nephilim

Description:

Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky... Gothic rock band that has influenced many bands. The legendary debut album has been remastered and reissued! Created in 1984 by vocalist and frontman Carl McCoy, Fields of the Nephilim has influenced a wide range of music genres including goth, metal, alternative, post-punk, post-rock, and electronic music. influence on a wide range of scenes, including goth, metal, alternative, post-punk, post-rock, and electronic music. Their influence can be heard in bands such as Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, Wolves in The Throne Room, and Behemoth. This reissue of "Dawnrazor" is their debut album, released in 1987, and has been revived in high sound quality as a 2LP set on white vinyl with remastered recordings. While the original version was released with a different track listing for each country, this reissue features all 14 tracks in complete analog format for the first time, bringing together the "definitive" version that was once only available on the CD box set. The album opens with a sample of Ennio Morricone's "Man with the Harmonica" from Sergio Leone's 1968 western film Once Upon a Time in the West. Also featured is "Preacher Man," an epic track that is often cited as one of the greatest Goth songs ever written. In a 2017 retrospective of this work, The Quietus magazine described their sound as "music that sails through a sea of psychedelia that celebrates a wide variety of colors.Metal Hammer magazine also noted that "Fields of the Nephilim has revitalized the UK scene with a much-needed new impetus and sound by introducing the power and urgency of metal into the sound."
