Steve Martin's rapid rise from stand-up comedian to national favorite in the late 70s made him one of the leading figures of the new generation of comedians. This album is a compilation of his four albums "Let's Get Small" (1977), "A Wild And Crazy Guy" (1978), and "Comedy Is Not Pretty" (1979), which fully demonstrate his absurd humor, surreal routines, and banjo skills during the period when he was gaining popularity. (1979), and The Steve Martin Brothers (1981). His breakthrough, LET'S GET SMALL, an audio presentation of his visual and physical comedy, was a Top 10 hit & certified platinum. 2ND album, A WILD AND CRAZY GUY, reached a high of #2. Included the hit single "King Tut".By the time their 3rd album "COMEDY IS NOT PRETTY!" was released, the band was so popular that they performed in stadiums like a rock band. The fourth album, "THE STEVE MARTIN BROTHERS," features not only stand-up material, but also bluegrass banjo playing throughout the album, showcasing his skill and excellent taste.
