Description:
A 2014 release by Arild Andersen (b), the jewel of Norwegian jazz. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of Jan Garbarek's band and has produced numerous masterpieces through his interactions with ECM players such as Jon Christensen, Ralph Towner, and John Abercrombie, as well as American artists such as Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, Don Cherry, and Paul Bley. Not only is he at the pinnacle of modern jazz, but he also has a strong experimental curiosity. He has produced fresh topics that go beyond conventional boundaries, such as his unique unit activities with Norwegian traditional folk singer Kirsten Bråten Berg and serving as music director for a play commemorating the 2000 Athens Olympics. This album is a trio work featuring two musicians he has collaborated with since 2007: Tommy Smith (tenor sax), a Scottish artist known for his performances with Gary Burton and Jack DeJohnette, and Paolo Vinaccia (drums), who has also performed with Terje Rypdal and Nils Petter Molvær.
