The first new release by jazz organ legend Ronnie Foster on Blue Note Records in 36 years! The new album "Reboot" will be released. This is indeed the first time in 36 years that Foster has released a new album. The release is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of his 1972 debut and classic album "Two Headed Freap," released on Blue Note! This work is a tribute to Dr. Ronnie Smith, Ronnie's Brother, hometown friend, hero, and one of the best Hammond B3 organ players in the world. Recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, the album pays homage to the past while actively incorporating new elements to create an all-encompassing Hammond organ groove. The first track to be released, "Reboot," features Foster's organ, his son Chris Foster's drums, and Michael O'Neill's guitar for a groovy sound.Foster's soulful renditions of Stevie Wonder's 1976 masterpiece "Key of Life" (originally titled "Summer Soft"), George Benson's best-selling album "Breathin'," or his "Mystic Brew" sampling A Tribe Called Quest's hit "Electric Relaxation," which sampled his "Mystic Brew. The Buffalo, NY native first came to Blue Note co-founder Francis Wolfe's attention in 1970 when he first joined legendary guitarist Grant Green as a sideman on his "Alive! After Wolfe passed away a few months later, Ronnie was officially signed to Blue Note by George Butler, following in the illustrious lineage of Hammond B3 organists introduced by the label, including Jimmy Smith, Larry Young, and Dr. Ronnie Smith.
