Throughout his 60-year career, Barron has recorded numerous albums as a bandleader and sideman with Sheila Jordan, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Chet Baker, Elvin Jones, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, and Dianne Reeves, Dianne Reeves, and many others. His accolades include 11 Grammy nominations, an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music, the NEA's "Jazz Master" Living Legacy Award, the American Jazz Hall of Fame, and six-time "Best Pianist" by the Jazz Journalists Association. He is a Living Legend. This album features four original compositions and five standard tunes (including masterpieces by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Billy Strayhorn, and others).
